Set among the peaceful, rolling hills of the beautiful Willamette
Valley, Battle Creek Vineyards is a picture of abundance
as it stretches out across 135 acres under an expansive,
generous sky.
Growing the grapes
Each acre of Battle Creek is devoted to the planting of a
single grape varietal—Pinot Noir. The environment is
perfectly suited to meet the needs of this demanding varietal.
Long afternoons
of sunshine are tempered by coastal breezes that keep the climate
cool, even in the summer. The volcanic soil is rich with nutrients
and is well drained, keeping the soil warm for properly ripening
the grapes.
The right site for creating a masterpiece
Laid out in a carefully planned and coordinated approach, the
vineyard is divided into 21 different blocks with select
clones and rootstocks, and diverse microclimates, slope,
and elevations. Such precision allows the winemaker to blend
Battle Creek Pinot Noir into a masterpiece—a wine with
depth, complexity, and sophistication.
